Adobe Photoshop Tutorial - Reflection Shadow and Change Object Color

Step 1: New a document and follow setting below.


Step 2: Open and import "shampoo.jpg" into document.



Step 3: To remove white color background. Select "Shampoo" layer (Layer 2), use Magic Wand Tool (Torelance: 30), click white color background and press "delete" key.


Step 4: Hit Ctrl + T to re-size it (Smaller).


Step 5: To create object's shadow. New a layer (Layer 3), draw a circle selection with Elliptical Marquee Tool (Feather: 12px) and fill in black color.


Step 6: In layer window, move Layer 3 and put it below Layer 2. Position and re-size the object's shadow. Reduce Layer 3 opacity to 70%.


Step 7: To create  reflection shadow. Duplicate layer 2 (Shampoo) and go to Edit> Transform> Flip Vertical.


Step 8: In layer window, move the duplicated layer 2 and put it below Layer 3. Hit Ctrl + T to re-size it


Step 9: Reduce Layer (duplicated layer 2) opacity to 40%. Use eraser tool (brush size: soft round 100 px) to remove part of the reflection shadow (make it more realistic).


Step 10: In layer window, select all layers (except Layer 1) and right click duplicate layer. Use move tool to position the cloned shampoo.


Step 11: To change color. Select layer 2 (Shampoo), go to Image> Adjustments> Hue / Saturation and follow setting below (adjust the Hue slider to choose your preferred color).






Step 12: Select the duplicated layer 2 (reflection shadow), go to Image> Adjustments> Hue / Saturation and follow setting below (adjust the Hue slider to choose your preferred color).


Step 13: Repeat step 11 and 12 for second cloned shampoo. Repeat step 10, 11 and 12 to create 3rd cloned shampoo. Here is your final outcome.
